Miles From
Ordinary

Where the roads end and the forest doesn’t.

You’ll be staying deep in the wild heart of West Virginia, surrounded by uninterrupted forest on all sides.

To the east and south, 10,000+ acres of the Hughes River Wildlife Management Area.

To the west, 5,600 acres of the Walker WMA.
And to the north? Over 2,000 acres of privately protected land — no houses, no towns, just trees.

There are no cities tucked between these forests — just rugged ridgelines, hardwood hollows, and the quiet you forgot you were missing.

This isn’t a patch of woods behind a neighborhood. This is real forest. End to end.

No Roads, No Problem

Off-road vehicles aren’t just welcome — they’re required.

All of our campsites are UTV-accessible, with rugged backcountry roads leading you into the woods. Whether you bring your own off-road machine or need a lift, we’ll make sure you get there.

For Primitive Trailhead Camps:
Hike in or drive your own UTV or 4x4 right up to your site — no hauling required.

For Outfitted Camps:
Don’t have a ride? No problem. We’ll personally haul you, your cooler, and your crew into the deeper forest. It’s part of what makes these sites feel so exclusive.

You won’t need to ride around the campground — the real adventure is in the endless backroads surrounding us.

No Signal, No Stress

Disconnect to reconnect.

No bars? No problem.  Aside from a handful of high-elevation spots, there’s no cell signal out here — and that’s exactly how we like it.

When you stay with us, you’re not refreshing email or doomscrolling. You’re watching deer walk past your fire ring, listening to the creek roll by, or soaking in the stillness of real wilderness.

We’re not a campground with Wi-Fi. We’re a deep-woods escape with everything you didn’t know you needed.

Trade distractions for dirt roads, silence, and stars.

You're in Their Backyard

Pack smart. Tread lightly. Stay aware.

This isn’t a manicured park — it’s wild country, and you’re just a visitor. Black bears, bobcats, otters, deer, and countless other creatures call these woods home. You might spot them. You might not. But they’re here, and they’re watching.

Respect the land and its residents.

Bring bug spray- especially for ticks.
Wear sturdy hiking boots.
Pack a separate pair of shoes for creek walking (we recommend Tevas).
Be prepared for chilly nights — even in summer.
Fishing is catch and release only.
And above all, leave no trace.
